Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is often overlooked. I mean there's Halloween and then there's Christmas. The two extremes. Where is the in between. Thanksgiving!!! Thanksgiving is a heartfelt day within itself. I mean surely don't  you want to give something thanks. I have a million and things to be thankful for. Ican't even begin to say and express thanks enough for what I am truly thankful for. It is the simple things that makes life worth living. The extra seconds, the breaths of air, my health, family and friends. Even the kindness given to me by strangers. The door being held for me, the good mornings, the bagging of my groceries, the fast food meals when I dont have to cook for the family, the waiters going back and forth to refill my drink for the millionth and one time. The person in Walmart, who took extra care to clean the floors and stack the groceries, the person who put the gas in the tank so I could pump the gas for my car, the person at georgia power who made sure my lights were up and running, the people who took my trash away this week, the bus driver who took my child safely to school, the teacher who spent 8 hours to make sure my kids got it. As you can see I can go and on and on for how thankful I am. I am grateful. To me it is one day celebrated as a holiday but it should be everyday that you are thankful and grateful for your blessings. What would the world be without thankfulness? So in preparation for next week, I surfed the net to get some ideas of cool things for Thanksgiving and this is what I found.

I hope these ideas gave you some ideas for Thanksgiving!!!! Be Thankful
HAPPY THANKSGIVING

PINK-O-WEEN vs. HALL-O-WEEN

Halloween is a big time of the year. One of the major holidays in the U.S. but October is also a big month too for Breast Cancer Awareness. This year instead of celebrating Halloween try Pinkoween. You can also be tricked or treated with Pinkoween. The trick is to do a montly self-breast  test. The treat is you could possible detect early stages of cancer if performed properly and by doing this you could save your life. In honor of my grandmother, the late Sarah Stradford I am donating this year to the Susan G Komen Foundation to help support the fight against breast cancer and to help with funds for the further research for the cure. If you want to help me in my support and donation with this cause.DONATE....

HAPPY PINKOWEEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Smores Kit

I recently neglected my blog a bit due to my very busy wedding/event planning business. The summer months often get hectic due to the summer brides and of course those summer birthday bashes. I truly missed blogging and promised to do at least one story every week and here it is already Friday again and I haven't did that one story. Not to break my promise, I decided to begin right away with the perfect favor idea I found on the net. I am a lover of  smores so this idea really caught my attention and this is the perfect time to give one to family and friends. The season is changing and the days are getting cooler. I am a lover of the fall/winter seasons and all the things it brings including the cold and snow. Some people say," they love summer because of the warmth it brings". I beg to differ because the winter brings warmth too. I love well-lit fireplaces, barn-fires,hot chocolate, warm apple pies and pumpkin pies. Must I go on. The smores kit idea, I found would make the perfect favor for any occasion whether casual or formal. The trick to this favor is the way you dress it up or down to present to your guest  you can change the twine or bow to compliment your occasion. For example, if it is a casual outdoor barn-fire affair keep the twine, or if it's a holiday dessert exchange you can tie it with a festive bow or ribbon and for a wedding favor use a more fancier ribbon or tulle.  I hope you enjoy this favor as much as I did.

Mondrian Miami

I was recently thinking how much I need a vacation. I wanted to go this month, but I got bogged down in everyday responsibilities and work and decided to just put it off. Well I have decided to go the end of September to Miami Beach and I am staying at the Monderian Miami. So if any of you want to go along in my quest of South Miami Beach, I will be happy to have you. Here are some pics of the hotel and of course I will be stopping in on Evelyn Lozado and her boutique plus trying a couple of the hottest restaurants in Miami.

I feel relaxed already and I haven't event left yet.

Pamper Yourself!!!Through all the hustle and bustle of everyday life, we very often forget to pamper ourselves. Pampering gives the body a refreshing feel. It relieves everyday stress and makes you feel you can conquer the world. There are some places you can go to get pampered that makes you feel like you went away for the day. Well this is a place that I found and I wanted to share because somethings just makes the world a better place.
